- Use - The map re-centers itself on any new search, but results in other tabs don't get cleared. This allows you to quickly jump back and forth to different searches, such as going back to directions after searching for movie options. - On a map, roll - Save your frequent locations as Favorites for easy access via the dropdown. - On a map, press - If there is more than one location in the dropdown, use the - Use the 'Near Where?' field to change your location. - On the Business tab, browse categories for specific searches or just start typing to get commonly searched items. - In the Traffic tab, use the - In the Business, Movies, and Gas Prices tabs, press - Selecting Movies or Gas Prices will find items close to the current map location or location you enter. - Sorting by relevance displays results Microsoft Live Search thinks that you're most likely looking for based upon your search term.
- Use - Turn on Track-Me to have your location tracked closely by the device. This is great to use while following a direction route to see how you are progressing. The running man icon displays in this mode. - Frequently updating your location drains your battery. For example, we reduce how often your location is checked when the application is in the background or the device is in sleep mode. Track-Me mode enables you to get a faster fix, but use it carefully if you want to conserve your battery.
- Color-coded icons allow you to quickly know the status of your GPS location fix. - Green indicates the GPS in the device has been able to find your location within the last few minutes in regular mode and the last 30 seconds when you're in Track-Me mode. - Yellow indicates that your location has started to go stale as we haven't been able to get a fix in the past few minutes. This can happen when you're in a building and are not getting a good signal. - Red indicates that your location is outdated. We'll display an outdated location for up to 12 hours if you never get a fix. - The icon in the panel mirrors your status (green, yellow, or red). - Pin GPS Location Mode - When the GPS system updates the current location, the map view pans to center of the current location marker. - Track-Me Mode - This mode provides the user with near-constant updates to their current location indicator at the expense of rapid depletion of their device's battery. - GPS Accuracy Circle - It shows the accuracy of the location found as a blue colored circle (50%opaque) on map.
